WHAT WE COLLECT

We collect your name, email address, and travel preferences. If you choose to add them, we collect trip details to power trip and safety features. We collect your location only when you use a location-based feature and have granted permission. For safety insights and Rovi, we use the city or area you are in. When you choose "use my current location" to search for nearby hotels, we use your precise coordinates to find results near you. Chat conversations with Rovi are processed to generate replies and stored so your history syncs across your devices. With your permission, the App uses your camera and photo library so you can translate menus and signs, share images with Rovi, and set a profile photo; images you share with Rovi are stored with your chat history so it syncs across your devices, images submitted for translation are processed as described in AI Processing & Your Controls, and your profile photo is stored with your account. If you use voice input, your device’s speech-recognition service (Apple or Google) converts your speech to text, which may involve sending audio to that provider; the resulting text is handled like a typed message. When Rovi looks up current information, the search query derived from your request may be stored to improve speed and manage usage limits. When you book travel through the App, we store the booking’s confirmation details (hotel or flight, dates, amount, confirmation code) linked to your account. We never collect payment card information — subscription billing is handled by Apple or Google Play, and travel payments are collected by our booking partner, Nuitee. We also automatically collect limited technical information — including your device’s IP address and basic request logs — which we use to keep the App secure, enforce usage limits, and prevent abuse. We show ads in some parts of the App to free users. To do this, our advertising provider may access your device’s advertising identifier and limited technical information about your device. On iOS you will be asked for permission before any tracking occurs, and you can decline. RoviGo Pro subscribers do not see ads.

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

We use your data to provide app features, personalize recommendations, power Rovi AI, enforce daily message limits, and improve the app. You control what personal information is shared with Rovi AI — see "AI Processing & Your Controls" below. We also use limited device information to show and measure ads to free users. We do not sell your personal information.

AI PROCESSING & YOUR CONTROLS

Rovi AI is powered by Anthropic, Inc. (the maker of Claude). When you use Rovi’s AI features, the information needed to answer you is sent to our servers and then to Anthropic to generate a response. Depending on the feature, this can include your chat messages and any images you send in chat, photos you submit for translation, the city or area you ask about for safety insights, and itinerary requests. You are in control: in AI & Privacy settings you can turn Rovi AI off entirely, turn Safety insights on or off independently, and choose what personal context is shared (your name, travel preferences, trips, and location) using individual toggles. With Rovi AI and Safety insights both off, nothing is sent to Anthropic. Your device’s local safety tools — emergency numbers, maps, and "I’m Lost" — always work, even with everything off. Please also review Anthropic’s privacy policy at anthropic.com.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

To deliver certain features, limited data is processed by service providers. Rovi AI is powered by Anthropic — see AI Processing & Your Controls. When Rovi needs current information, a search query based on your request may be sent to a web search provider (Serper), which returns publicly available results from the web; to summarize those results, the App may fetch the text of a linked result page through a content-extraction provider (Jina AI), which receives only that page’s public web address — not your query or any personal data. Destination search uses Google Places, which receives the place names you type. Weather is provided by WeatherAPI.com, which receives the location or city you request weather for. Voice input uses your device’s speech-recognition service (Apple or Google). Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat, which processes your app-store purchase history and subscription status — never your card details. Account and password emails are delivered through Resend, which receives your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from that provider. Hotel and flight searches send your destination, dates, and party size to our booking partner Nuitee; checkout takes place on Nuitee’s platform, which collects payment and guest details directly under its own privacy policy. Activities are provided through partners such as Viator; opening one takes you to Viator’s website with a referral identifier so bookings can be credited to RoviGo. Destination and cover photos are provided by Unsplash and Pexels, which receive the place-related search terms used to find an image. Directions between places in your itinerary use Google’s routing service, which receives the start and end points of the route. We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error diagnostics that help us fix problems; these reports include technical details about the error and your device and are configured not to include your personal profile data, and because crash reporting must be active before the App finishes loading, it starts when the App launches, including before you create an account. Your account, trip, chat, and profile data are stored on our servers, hosted on Railway in the United States (Virginia), to sync across your devices. Images you share in chat and your profile photo are stored with Tigris, an object-storage provider. Currency conversion rates are provided by Frankfurter, which receives only the currency codes being converted — no personal data. Map-based safety features open your own maps app directly — your GPS location is not sent to our servers for those handoffs. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which receives your device’s advertising identifier and limited technical information in order to select and measure ads. Google’s use of that information is described in its own privacy policy. Turning coordinates into a place name, and a place name into coordinates, is done by your device’s own operating system (Apple or Google), which receives that information. Some destination photos are requested by your device directly from Unsplash, so Unsplash receives your device’s IP address along with the search term. When you open directions, request a ride, or share your location from the App, your coordinates are sent to the app or person you choose — for example Apple Maps, Google Maps, Uber, Lyft, or a messaging recipient.

HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information. Beyond the service providers and booking partners described above, we share information only when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, to protect the rights, property, or safety of RoviGo, our users, or others, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition, in which case affected users will be notified.

DATA RETENTION & INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Chat messages and trips you delete are removed from our servers within 24 hours. Images you share in chat are stored for as long as the conversation exists and are deleted when you delete the conversation or your account. Deleting your account removes your account data as described in Your Rights. RoviGo operates from the United States, and our servers are located in the United States (Virginia); if you use the App from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can permanently delete your account at any time in the App (Profile → Delete Account) or by request at support@rovigo.io. This removes your trips, itineraries, chats, images, and profile information. We retain a limited record of subscription events where required for billing and accounting. Most of your information can be edited directly in the App; to correct your name or email address, contact support@rovigo.io and we will update it for you. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, and EU and UK residents have rights under the GDPR. We respond to all requests within 30 days.

DATA SECURITY

Data is encrypted in transit between the App and our servers. Your account data is stored on access-controlled servers, and images are stored with a provider that encrypts data at rest and holds SOC 2 Type II certification. API keys and credentials are never exposed in the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

CHILDREN

RoviGo is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
